NOT TO SPEC: Privacy Notice

Last updated: 30 October 2026

This notice covers the video game Not to Spec: A Dystopian Factory Inspection Game ("NOT TO SPEC" or "the game") on every console where it is released. Our website, pigeong.com, has its own Privacy Policy (in Spanish).

1. The short version

2. Who is responsible

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer because none of the cases in which the law requires one applies to us.

3. What happens to your data

The game crashes and the platform passes us the report Technical crash data (game version, console model and system software, the point in the code where it failed). We do not try to identify you from it Finding and fixing the bug Our legitimate interest in the game working properly (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) As long as it takes to fix the bug, and one year at most

Platforms also send us sales reports, but these are aggregate figures (units, countries, amounts) with no buyer data in them.

4. What consoles and their stores do

To play you need a console and, usually, an account with its maker. Purchases, payments, refunds, trophies and achievements, playtime recorded by the console, cloud copies of your saves, screenshots and videos you share, and parental controls are handled by the platform, not by us. Each platform decides what data it processes and why, under its own policy:

We do not receive your payment details, your account name, your friends list or the email address of your platform account.

5. Who we share data with

Nobody, unless the law requires it. The only data we might hold is your email, if you write to us. It arrives in an email service run by Google, acting on our behalf as a processor (Art. 28 GDPR). If that involves data leaving the European Economic Area, the safeguards in Chapter V of the GDPR apply.

6. Children

The game carries the age rating given by each rating system (PEGI, ESRB or others), shown in the store. It collects no data from anyone, whatever their age. Which games a child can play, and for how long, is up to their parents or guardians through the console's parental controls. If a child under 14 emails us, we will use their data only to give the reply they need, and we will delete the message if their parents or guardians ask.

7. Your rights

You can ask us for access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and to object (Arts. 15 to 22 GDPR; Arts. 12 to 18 LOPDGDD) by emailing info@pigeong.com and saying which right you are exercising. We may ask for something to confirm it is you, but we will not ask for a copy of an ID document unless it is strictly necessary. We reply within one month (Art. 12(3) GDPR), free of charge.

Since the game sends us no data, the only things we are likely to hold about you are the emails you sent us. For data linked to your console account, contact the platform.

8. Complaints

If you think we are not handling your data properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, AEPD), Edificio Cuzco IV, Paseo de la Castellana, 141, planta 9, 28046 Madrid, Spain, online through the e-office (sede electrónica) linked from its website (https://www.aepd.es), or in person by appointment. If you live in another EU country, you can also go to the data protection authority in your own country.

9. Changes

If a game update ever changed anything described here (for example, by adding an online feature), we would update this notice before releasing it. The version in force is always the one on this page, with its date.

This notice is also available in Spanish.
